About the Rand Water Learnership Programme

The purpose of this learnership is to equip candidates with the theoretical knowledge, workplace experience, and practical skills required to operate effectively as a Procurement Officer.

A Procurement Officer is responsible for:

  • Managing the procurement and supply of goods and services
  • Coordinating contracts and supplier negotiations
  • Implementing and monitoring procurement schedules and performance metrics

Learnership Responsibilities

As a learner, you will be required to:

  • Develop and implement procurement and supply schedules
  • Manage relationships and contracts with suppliers
  • Monitor procurement performance and ensure compliance
  • Attend all classes and participate in learnership activities
  • Complete assignments, projects, and practical logbooks
  • Write assessments to demonstrate understanding

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Rand Water Procurement Learnership 2025/2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Advertisements

  • Must be currently unemployed
  • Must not be enrolled in any other learnership, internship, or educational programme
  • Must not hold a post-matric qualification
  • Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with:
    • Mathematical Literacy – Minimum Level 4
    • English – Minimum Level 4
  • Must submit a SAQA/NLRD verification report (available from the SAQA website)
  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years

Important Information for Applicants with Disabilities

  • Deaf or hard-of-hearing applicants must arrange for their own interpreters, at their own cost, as the learnership requires the ability to hear and communicate effectively.
  • A valid doctor’s certificate/report or ITRDD13 form signed by a registered medical practitioner must be included as proof of disability.
